Trump Calls Google “Biased”, Google Refuses

According to the President of the US, Google has deliberately refrained from promoting his speech in 2017.  In fact, he went ahead and posted a video stating that Google has not featured his State of the Union Address. On the contrary, Google mentioned that the speech given by President Trump was directed to the Congress, which is not a part of the State of the Union Address.

The Director of News Lab from Google, Steve Grove, tweeted that the claim made by the President through the video was untrue. He also presented proves that clearly states the difference between the screenshots and the Buzzfeed article.

Donald Trump has linked a video with the original video, which has been viewed 3 million times. The linked video features a collection of screenshots of the Homepage of Google, between January 2012 and February 2018. The headline of the post shared by the President reads that Google had proactively promoted the State of the Union address by then President Barack Obama. However, the series of events stopped once the White House was taken over by Donald Trump.

Google has stated that on 30th January this year, the State of the Union Address, live-streamed by Donald Trump, was highlighted on the homepage of Google. It further supported its action by stating that when the new president addressed the Congress in 2009 and 2017, Google has categorically not promoted the same as it was not a part of the State of the Union Address.

Though it is not clear who is the creator of the video, it was tagged in a hashtag of #Stopthebias.

This is not the first time that Donald Trump has accused Google of a biased attitude. This is the second time the President has accused the search engine giant. In fact, he has threatened to make the rules stricter if the trail of the events continues.
