An upgraded edition of the Twitter mobile application will permit consumers to gain additional control over their data usage. This is akin to how the Twitter Lite application is developed for up-and-coming markets. Now, rather than having to install a separate application to restrict data usage or manually regulate different settings, consumers will be capable of turning on a new “Data Saver” alternative available in Settings of the app.
Earlier, Twitter provided Data Saver in Twitter Lite, Twitter for Windows, and its mobile platform. Some consumers might have also witnessed the Data Saver option on Android or iOS, as well as on desktop website of Twitter. This was due to a test that Twitter had in progress. That desktop web test had also comprised moving other features and elements around, such as making “Night Mode” a more visible alternative or placing Trends below the “Who To Follow” suggestions.
On a similar note, in an attempt to control harassment of consumer on its website, Twitter earlier claimed that it decided to purchase Smyte. Smyte is a San Francisco-located tech firm that specializes in spam, safety, and security problems. Twitter claimed that it was pledged to serving the public chats and making sure the chat on its website is healthy.
“Smyte’s technology, team, and company mission are in line with our aim on enhancing the health of chat on the platform, and we think this will be an influential inclusion to our current operations,” Twitter claimed to the media. “We cannot wait until they join our group to assist us make modifications that will additionally enhance the health of the public chat,” it claimed.
“Their review processes and tools will be influential additions to our own technology and tools that assist us keep Twitter secure. We will incorporate this tech to reinforce our operations and systems in the months to come,” Twitter claimed.
